Eye Candy!!

Copyright: Entertainment Weekly

New picture out from Public Enemies!! Come on, be honest...Don't you just want to play nurse? From what is being said this shot (no pun intended) is from the scenes at Little Bohemia. Entertainment Weekly has Johnny on the cover and a short interview. Interview can be found at Johnny Depp Reads in Today's News section.

Johnny Depp and the Indianapolis Colts!?!

Life has been a whirlwind lately but I saw this posted at JDR and just had to share it on the blog. Two of my favorite things together! Isn't this picture just like Johnny and Hunter? Wonder what they were really up to lol!!! Gotta run....have a safe weekend all....until next post :)

From the Gonzo Photo book with intro by Johnny Depp. The picture credit reads: "Johnny Depp with football helmet".

The photo appears on a page of Polaroids in which Hunter also appears in drag. It is dated 18 July 1997 and appears to be taken at Owl Farm... the background is very dark but similar to others in the "series."

Credit and thanks to Cindy and Dharma Bum from The Zone and BuccaRoux at JDR

Apology and more Johnny Depp

Sorry to all who have stopped by and I haven't posted anything new. First off, I got sick over Labor Day weekend. Jack managed to pass his strep throat off to his Mom and then me! Comes with the territory... I'm almost done with the antibiotics and the sore throat and ear ache are gone.

This is a rough time of year for me. I struggle through it but I'm always just a little bit down each day. Last Sunday, a few local bands got together and put on a Memorial Concert and Hog Roast in honor of my brother, Phil. This is the second year for it and I DID manage to go this year and have a decent time. I have been able to get out his Cd's and listen to his music without bawling my eyes out so there has been improvement. A lot of it is a false bravado but I'm working on it.

It's been hard to listen to his music and know that I'll never get to see or talk to him again. I miss his shenanigans, sense of humor and jokes. Most of the time I could tell myself he's just off doing what he does and it works until the holidays/birthdays come around and he doesn't show up. He played music all his life. For awhile he traveled with The Fortunes. Anyone remember that group? From the 60's & 70's. They were a UK group but Phil did the US tour with them in the 90's. A couple songs I always liked are 'Here Comes That Rainy Day Feeling Again' and everyone knows 'Seasons in the Sun'!
Here's a couple You Tube videos...keep in mind Phil played keyboard.
(I should make it clear that it is NOT Phil in these videos.)

Ok, speaking of Memorials (smooth change, huh?) here's a couple new pictures from the Sheila Witkins Memorial Concert with The Kids:

Is the man having fun or what!?!? These pictures I picked up at JDR and a couple members went to the concert and reported back that the first night after the concert he did a meet-n-greet!!! How awesome is that? Wish I could have been there. Enjoy!! Today's post is all over the place but it's a post :)

Seasons In The Sun
The Fortunes

Goodbye Emil, my trusted friend
We've known each other since we were nine or ten
Together we climbed hills and trees
Learned of love and ABC's
Skinned our hearts and skinned our knees

Goodbye Emil, it's hard to die
When all the bird's are singing in the sky
Now that the spring is in the air
Pretty girls are everywhere
I wish we could both be there

We had joy, we had fun, we had seasons in the sun
But the hills we could climb were just seasons out of time

Goodbye Papa, please pray for me
I was the black sheep of the family
You tried to show me right from wrong
But too much wine and too much song
Wonder how I got along

Goodbye Papa, it's hard to die
When all the bird's are singing in the sky
Now that the spring is in the air
Little kids are everywhere
Think of me and I'll be there

We had joy, we had fun, we had seasons in the sun
But the wine and the song like the seasons have all gone

Goodbye Francoise, my trusted wife
Without you I'd had a lonely life
You cheated lots of times with them
But I forgave you in the end
Though your lover was my friend

Goodbye Francoise, it's hard to die
When all the birds are singing in the sky
Now that the spring is in the air
With your lovers everywhere
Just be careful, I'll be there

We had joy, we had fun, we had seasons in the sun
But the stars we could reach were just starfish on the beach

Goodbye Michelle, my little one
You gave me joy and helped me find the sun
And every time when I was down
You would always come around
And get my feet back on the ground

Until next post....

Cookouts and holidays

Wow, been a few days since I posted and I had to dust off the cobwebs and wipe down the tables. Meant to post this morning but the Controller here surprised us by planning a cookout for lunch so I had to get some of my work done early. Now I'm waiting on one of the girls to get back with our Dairy Queen Blizzards!!! Mmmmm I'm getting the Oreo :)
Hoping you all have a safe and fun holiday. Keep anyone in the path of Gustav and Hanna in your prayers. Not sure yet where either one of them is headed but prayers never hurt.
Jack and Maggie are recovering along with their Momma, who came down with a sore throat on Tuesday (surprise). The only thing we have planned this weekend is a birthday party for my Dad on Sunday.

Oh did you see the new photo with Johnny Depp. It's him and his band, The Kids, with Dan Marino. Johnny and the band are doing a concert and some of the benefits are going to promoter Sheila Wilkens and one of Dan's Charities.

I also added a new blog to my list, Organized Doodles. Blogger, Rick, had left a comment here and I followed him back. He's a great caricature artist and has a wicked sense of humor. Check it out when you can.
Mmmmm....my Blizzard is here!!!!!! This is delicious!! Ice cream + Oreo = heaven!!! I definitely won't be eating super tonight LOL
I've also been busy trying to catch up on some french lessons ou françaises leçons. I have slacked off ever since Public Enemies started shooting and need to get back into it. Imagine that!! So much to do...so little time.
Wowsa, I just got a system message tell us we could leave an hour early today. Hot damn, I need to finish stuff up so I can get the 'H' out of here. Have a safe holiday....until next post.

Johnny Depp on set photos

Click on picture for bigger size. I found this over at JDR here: http://www.groovology.com/images/080501_koppa_Depp.jpg Johnny always did look good in a tux! This next one I found at JDR too. It from the ballroom scene but too far away to tell if it's actually Johnny and the stars or the stand ins. http://www.groovology.com/images/080501_Ko...FromBalcony.jpg

I also wanted to pass along a site my son-in-law had emailed to me. You can look up any date and find out what the #1 song was on that day. Could make for some interesting conversation at the next family get-together.

http://www.joshhosler.biz/NumberOneInHistory/SelectMonth.htm

Interesting stuff lol The number one song from July 4th 1957 was Teddy Bear by Elvis Presley :) No wonder I always liked that song!

Just a quick post. I have to get some work done. May add to it later. If I don't make it back, take care all.....until next post...

Happy Birthday Johnny Depp!!

Happy Birthday Johnny Depp!!!

I know the man has already had his dreams come true so I will just wish him some rest and fun times spent with his family.

Still a lot of water in southern Indiana but Sunday was dry and people were able to get organized and some water began to recede. There are now 29 counties under Disaster (edited yesterdays post for a typo). These storms flooded hospitals, fire and police stations, county offices and courts along with many, many residents. Weather service says more to come today and tomorrow :( So far radar shows everything still to the east of Indiana. Lets hope it's not a lot of rain. Even 2-3 inches could hamper efforts to clean up.
There is still one spot on I-70 that is closed due to a collapse due to erosion. I haven't heard anything more about I-65 so hoping things are ok that way since I will be traveling to Kentucky in a couple weeks.
Gotta go....real life calls....More later maybe.

Johnny Depp Takes Home 2 Awards

Johnny has a new tattoo! It reads: Silence, Exile, Cunning, a quote from a James Joyce book, but that isn't the new news lol Yea!!!! Johnny won 2 awards on MTV. Best Comedic Performance (Pirates AWE) and Best Villain (Sweeney Todd). WOOT!! He was looking real good too with his Dillinger hair cut. A lot of stories floating around about the filming and the meet-and-greets that have been going on. First I heard it was some drunks that got rowdy around the trailers but I read a blog from a girl who lives in the Chicago area who talked to one of the security people who told her that it was paparazzi. I can believe that but do I believe it because I don't want to believe fans would carry on so much as to cause an interruption? Or do I believe it because the paparazzi have such a bad rep.? I generally have a lot of faith in people so I would find it disturbing to witness such behavior be it fans or paparazzi.

On Friday, Indiana was hit with some bad weather. The cells split as it neared our area of the state and passed us to both the north and the south. It was some close calls for our son and his family who live near Bob's family about an hour away but all was okay. Last night was a different story! We had a lot of wind, rain and lightning. Power kept going out and by morning there were a lot of flooded roads. A couple hours to our south had tornadoes. There are a couple very small population towns that will just never be the same. In Moscow, IN they found a lady who had been impaled in her upper chest with a 3" diameter tree limb, she is alive but in critical condition. A 300 foot covered bridge was demolished and a 100 year old home was destroyed. For more info check out this site:

Well, work calls...covering for one of the other girls who is off this week so I've been twice as busy. Sorry it's a short post but that's the way it is....Take care and be safe all....
